Ioannis Metaxas, prime minister of Greece, would reject this request, firing off the Greco-Italo War. What Italian high command believed to be a swift and unchallenging invasion, turned into a long and arduous campaign. Italian forces would see successes on their front in Albania and Greece, but their advances would soon halt due to supply shortages, lack of modern tactics, and incompetent leadership. This played perfectly to the Hellenic Army's advantage and Greece would soon launch a Counter offensive, retaking lost territory and in some areas, pushing 50 Kilometers (31 miles) into Albania. The war would only come to an end when fresh German soldiers and well organized divisions would penetrate an exhausted and underequipped Greek frontline. By April 23rd, Greece would be fully occupied by Axis powers. Greece's contributions would not end at her capitulation, resistance and guerilla war would continue until Axis occupation ended, some of the Greek Army would escape to North Africa, and would fight under the British as an exiled army.

Equipment Details

This Greek officer is equipped with a Sam brown belt with a pistol pouch for a M1895 Nagant revolver. This pact was seen as intolerable by the majority of the Yugoslav people, and two days later, the Cvetkovic government was overthrown by a unified front of peasants, the church, unions and the military. A new government under Air Force Gen. Dusan Simovic immediately renounced Yugoslavia's position in the Tripartite Pact. Hitler had seen Yugoslavia as a bulwark against allied encroachment in that area, but also served a route for an invasion force to Greece. Now that Yugoslavia had renounced its position within the Axis, Hitler and his allies planned to invade the country. On April 6th 1941, Germany, Hungary, and Italy had begun their invasion of Yugoslavia. Royal Yugoslav soldiers were ill equipped, poorly lead, and lacked proper training, making them an easy adversary for the battle hardened German soldiers. Luftwaffe sorties destroyed any hope for the Royal Yugoslav Air Force, grounding their air units quickly and allowing the Axis to bomb major Yugoslav cities into capitulation. Italian and Hungarian force practically met no resistance for their part of the invasion, Yugoslav counterattacks for the Albanian front were attempted, but due to the army's collapse, they quickly failed. On April 18th, the Royal Yugoslavian government had capitulated and fled to Britain, where they would set up a "Government in Exile". Even after the partitioning of Yugoslavia into pro-Axis puppet governments, the partisan's efforts would divert an overwhelming amount of Axis forces that would be direly needed to reinforce other major fronts across Hitler's fronts.

Equipment Details

WIP

Brick Memoirs Printed Minifigures

Brick Memoir minifigures are printed on authentic and brand new Lego parts, so that the quality of our minifigures remain high and our prints clear!

"LEGO and the LEGO Minifigures are trademarks of the LEGO Group, which does not sponsor, authorize or endorse this site or these products."

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0577/7480/1064/products/311312494_890908831892989_7858629697289031730_n-overlay.png?v=1667914608
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0577/7480/1064/collections/7DF0A3C9-C1A8-4C6E-AF9B-ABAE4C859F62.jpg?v=1630123085
